Missouri Foxtrotters
Welcome to the Missouri Foxtrotting
division of Thunder Ridge Cattle Co. My name is Richard Dale (Rick) and I have
been riding and breeding horses for over 40 years. About 20 years ago I had to
have back surgery, but didn’t want to give up riding horses. I did have to give
up riding and breaking AQHA and APHA horses, and that’s when and how I was
introduced to the Missouri Foxtrotting horse. The ride was so comfortable I
thought I was cured. I knew this had to be my future in the horse business.
My plan was to use naturally gaited
mares and breed them to the best stallions in the breed. As time went on I
produced some very talented stallions of my own. I have never been into showing
my horses, so I can’t brag about the stars I have produced, but I can tell you
that what I produce will have the spirit and talent to make you stand out on the
trail and the looks to make you proud to be on their back.
I think that most of us in the horse
business would agree that the market has been a tough one to work with for the
past few years, and that is why I have decided to cut back on the number of
horses I raise. With this in mind my plan is to sell a number of good brood
mares, and to offer their offspring at prices that can work for both the buyer
and myself. I will try to give you the pertinent information on each horse
offered on this site, but if you have any questions, please feel free to contact
me either by email or phone.
Unless otherwise noted, all of our
foals are by our stallion,
Shimmers Golden Lad

Shimmer's Sunny Sundae D. 07-92030
This nice blue papered sorrel colt is out of a big nice looking palomino
mare, Sandar 97-55424. He is a June foal, but one of the biggest of my
2007 colts. He is high spirited, and very impressive. I think he will make
a supper trail horse, or show with the best of them. This is not his best
picture, and will update him in the spring if he is still around. I think
he should finish 16 hands or maybe some taller. I'll start him at
$1,250.00, and consider any reasonable offers. |

Perfection't Shimmer Son D. 07-92032
This is a very nice blue papered bay colt out of a blue papered black
sabino granddaughter of Toddy's Perfection ... Perfection's Ele Babe D.
01-71792 He has a great head, and show quality color, conformation, and
attitude. Great natural gait that he displays on or off the lead. He is
one of my personal favorites. I would like to start this colt at $1500,
but my plan is to sell, so don't be afraid to make a reasonable offer. |

Perfection'sIrish Cream D. 07-92031
This nice blue papered Sabino colt is out of a double bred Toddy's
Perfection extreme Sabino mare, Perfection's Nelly Gray... 98-58062 He
stands out with his loud color, size, and natural gait He is a big colt
that will probably finish out very stout, and about 16 hands. I'll will
start this colt out at $1,500.00, and will consider offers. |

Perfection's Shimmer Lad D. 07-92033
This blue papered Cremello colt is out of a very pretty blue papered
palomino daughter of the World Grand Champion Model Stallion Rex's Golden
Trigger. Her name is Perfection's Golden Lady D. 01-71804. Cremello's are
like beer, you will need to have a taste, or need, for them or you won't
be all that excited to own one. You can use him to breed for palomino's,
and buckskin's, or if you like the look, this colt will be a great
naturally gaited ride. He should finish out around 15 hands. The picture
of this colt is not too good, but will replace it with a new one in the
spring if I still have him. I'll start this colt at $1,000.00, and will
consider all offers. |

Traveler's Shimmer Lad D. 07-92034
This nice blue papered Buckskin colt is out of a really nice, supper
gaited, palomino Missouri Travler mare, Traveler's Miss Missouri 87-30501.
He should gait the best, and be an eye catcher when he finishes. I think
he will end up between 15 and 16 hands, and should be a nice stout colt.
Lots of sprit and natural ability here. I'll start this colt at $1,250.00
and will consider reasonable offers. |

Tessy's Shimmer Anne D. 07-92028
This blue papered black filly is a granddaughter of my two all-time
favorite mares, and she looks, and acts like she will have all the best
traits of both mares. She is out of Tessy's Little B.B.D 03-78769, this is
a mare that I won't have a picture of because I lost her when her filly
was about 6 mo. old. This filly has a great people loving disposition,
great natural gait, and every since she was born she was the blackest
filly I ever raised. She should finish up between 15 and 16 hands. This
picture doesn't do her justice, will update in the spring. I'll be asking
$2,500.00, and will be firm on this filly. |

Shimmer's Sandy Bones D. 07-92029
This really cute blue papered Buckskin filly is out of a Buckskin sire and
dam. She was a June foal and is smaller than the rest of her pen mates,
but is doing well, and will make a very nice horse when she finishes. I
expect her to be a smaller mare probably under 15 hands, but she will be
an eye catcher. Really nice head, confirmation, color, and disposition.
Her dam was Miss Sandy Bones D. 04-86129. I'll be starting her at
$1,500.00, and will consider reasonable offers. |
